Podgorica, (MINA) – The Parliament of Montenegro concluded on Friday the debate on the amendments to the Law on Internal Affairs and the Draft Law on the National Security Agency (ANB), while the MPs are expected to vote on these legal solutions later on the same day.
Part of the opposition MPs approached the desk of the chairperson Zdenka Popovic, and temporarily disrupted the debate.
Democratic Party of Socialists MP Andrija Nikolic said that the Speaker of the Parliament Andrija Mandic “is hiding in the building”, inviting him to address the public regarding what he described as deception that took place at the session of the Collegium.
He said that they are “only defending their dignity”.
Popovic responded that, at the request of the opposition MPs, a Collegium session had been held and that their demands had been met.
She added that the parliamentary majority agreed to continue the debate.
Minister of Justice Bojan Bozovic began presenting the Bill on ANB, but Nikolic turned off his microphone telling him that there would be no discussion.
Following the incident, the Deputy Speaker Boris Pejovic closed the debate.
Opposition MPs opposed the debate on the Law on Internal Affairs and the Law on ANB, stating that the amendments adopted by the Government on Thursday had been submitted to them only earlier on Friday.
They said that such a practice undermines the Parliament, describing it as unacceptable.
