Podgorica, (MINA) - The Parliament of Montenegro verified on Wednesday the parliamentary mandate of Adel Omeragic from the Bosniak Party (BS).
Parliament Speaker Andrija Mandic stated during the session that Omeragic’s mandate had begun following the request submitted by 55 MPs.
In the letter that Mandic read, it is stated that the State Electoral Commission’s inability to verify Omeragic’s mandate, due to issues in its functioning, could lead to the collapse of the legitimacy of the work of the parliament, which was operating with one MP fewer.
Mandic explained that they tried to find a solution at the collegium, but they did not succeed.
He emphasized that the Parliament must function in full composition and noted the start of Omeragic’s mandate.
Until recently, Omeragic served as Montenegro’s consul in New York, and replaced Admir Adrovic, who resigned in December last year, as a BS MP.
