Nisic and Western Balkans labour ministers to meet in Berlin under Montenegro’s chairmanship of the Berlin Process

Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – Labour ministers from the Western Balkans countries will meet in Berlin next week, sending a strong message of unity, stability, and the region’s readiness to jointly develop concrete solutions to labour market and social policy challenges through the Berlin Process.

As part of Montenegro’s chairmanship of the Berlin Process, Minister of Labour, Employment and Social Dialogue Naida Nisic will be in Berlin starting Monday for the Western Balkans Conference: Advancing Employment and Social Policy Together, organized in cooperation with Germany’s Federal Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs.

Together with German Federal Minister Bärbel Bas, Nisic will deliver opening remarks at the event, while during the panel titled “Identifying Common Solutions: Social Dialogue as a Driver of Sustainable Economic Development,” she will discuss the reforms Montenegro is implementing in the fields of social dialogue, collective bargaining, and alignment with European standards.

“The conference will bring together six labour and employment ministers from the Western Balkans countries, senior representatives of the European Commission, international organizations, social partners, and experts, making Berlin the central venue for regional dialogue on the future of labour markets, social policy, and the region’s European integration,” the Ministry said in a press release.

The agenda includes improving active labour market policies, protecting workers’ rights, occupational safety and health, strengthening social dialogue, cooperation among labour inspectorates, as well as the exchange of experiences and best practices among regional countries in line with European Union standards.
