Podgorica, (MINA) - Aleksandar Nisavic, director of Podgorica Waterworks and Sewerage, said that the construction of the key parts of the wastewater treatment plant in Botun is underway, with about 20 percent of the project completed so far.
He said that by the end of the year, all buildings are expected to reach the “gray phase”, after which the equipment will be installed and work will be continued in accordance with the planned dynamics, so that the project is completed by the mid- 2028.
Nisavic told TV Vijesti that between 20 to 30 workers are on the construction site every day, that about ten machines are active, adding that in the coming weeks the number of workers on the site is expected to increase.
Speaking about the meeting between Podgorica Mayor Sasa Mujovic and the locals, he said that he believes that everything that was promised, when it comes to the demands of the citizens of Botun, can be fulfilled within the stated deadlines.
Nisavic pointed out that the air quality and discharged water will be monitored in real time and that in the event of an excess, the plant would stop working, including waste water discharge.
He emphasized that, with the construction of the new plant in Botun, not a single liter of untreated water will be discharged into the Moraca river.
