Podgorica, (MINA) – The Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS) will not accept Prime Minister Milojko Spajic’s invitation to a meeting on fulfilling Montenegro’s EU obligations, said head of DPS parliamentary group Andrija Nikolic.

He thanked Spajic for the invitation noting, however, that it had been sent via WhatsApp a day before the proposed meeting.

“It is clear that it is your attempt to, ahead of the visit of European Commissioner for Enlargement, Marta Kos, to Montenegro, create an illusion of normality in the political situation in our country”, said Nikolic in his reply to Spajic.

Nikolic said that DPS had clearly told Spajic in the parliament that they did not want to participate in similar political games.

“As someone who legitimized every destructive political decision of the ruling majority, starting with the adoption of the Resolution on Genocide in Jasenovac, through the unconstitutional retirement of a Constitutional Court judge, to the recent adoption of anti-constitutional, anti-European and anti-democratic laws on internal affairs and the National Security Agency, we consider you the sole culprit for the political crisis in which Montenegro is currently”, the response states.

Nikolic assessed that Spajic made a key contribution to the creation of a socio-political environment that falls short of what is expected of the next EU member state, instead of taking advantage of the ever stronger support from European partners.
