NGOs call for prosecution’s reaction over chanting to war criminal at basketball game

Podgorica, (MINA) - A group of NGOs and civil activists condemned the chanting of the name of convicted war criminal Ratko Mladic at the basketball game played on Wednesday evening in Zeta between the clubs Zeta and Ibar from Rozaje.

The press release stated that, according to a video and the eyewitness statements, the Mladic’s name was chanted by a group of the Vukovi fan club.

They called on the competent prosecutor’s office and the police to investigate the case and identify those responsible.

“Glorification of convicted war criminals constitutes the criminal offense of inciting hatred and intolerance, which is punishable by a prison sentence of six months to five years”, said a group of NGOs and activists.

As emphasized, they expect the competent state prosecutor, by reviewing the footage, to identify all the perpetrators.
