Podgoria, (MINA) – The Ministry of Internal Affairs (MUP) has submitted the draft Law on Personal Data Protection to the European Commission (EC), with the aim of further harmonizing national legislation with the EU standards, the Ministry announced.
The MUP said that the draft was prepared in line with the standards of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), which confirms the Ministry’s commitment to continued harmonization with the EU legal acquis.
They added that they are convinced that further dialogue with the EC will contribute to the additional improvement of the text.
“The new legal solution will further improve the principles of legality, transparency and accountability in data processing, strengthen the rights of citizens, including the right to access, correct and delete data, while clearer obligations will be introduced for data handlers and processors”, the press release added.
