Podgorica, (MINA) - The state and the competent authorities must show determination and respond adequately to the burning of a construction at wastewater treatment plant construction site in Botun, Podgorica Mayor Sasa Mujovic has said.

Speaking to Portal RTV Podgorica, he said that a red line had been crossed with the act of vandalism and the attack on the property of the contractor at the Botun plant.

“The state must and will show its determination to protect every part of Montenegro, every project, public health and public interest”, said Mujovic.

According to him, the incident in in Botun is an example of how misinformation, lies and manipulation can affect not only political situation, but also everyday life and cause unpleasant scenes and destruction.

He called on the authorities to investigate the case and prove that the state is not powerless in the face of vandalism.

“The project will not be stopped, but in order to avoid questioning what irresponsible and ill-intentioned individuals might do next, we must react now”, said Mujovic.
