Mujovic: Opposition given opportunity to elect new Assembly Chair, forced administration also an option

Podgorica, (MINA) – The opposition in the capital, following the resignation of Jelena Borovinic Bojovic, has an opportunity to regroup and elect a new local assembly chair, said Podgorica Mayor Sasa Mujovic, adding that one of the options is forced administration.

In a press release, issued after resignation of Borovinic Bojovic, Mujovic said that it is inappropriate to comment on a decision that was a personal act.

“Nevertheless, there appears to be some basis for the explanation that this assembly has become blocked due to an avalanche of aimless and destructive initiatives put forward the opposition”, stated Mujovic.

He pointed out that the Assembly is a place where decisions are made for the benefit of citizens, not a training ground for political maneuvering.

“The opposition has an opportunity to regroup, build consensus and elect a new Assembly Chair. Forced administration is another option”, said Mujovic.

According to him, no matter of the outcome, the key message is that citizens will not feel any negative consequences of this decision.
