Risan, (MINA-BUSINESS) – One of the world’s leading hotel groups, Accor, will open the Movenpick Hotel & Residences Teuta Kotor Bay in Risan this month.
It is the first Movenpick-branded hotel in Montenegro.
The 151-room hotel is located in the heart of Risan, one of the oldest settlements on the Adriatic coast, and offers a peaceful retreat overlooking the UNESCO-protected Bay of Kotor.
“Established in 1948, Movenpick pioneered the Swiss restaurant scene before evolving into an international hotel brand recognized for its innovative culinary experience. Today, the same hospitality philosophy is nurtured in more than 130 hotels worldwide, where cuisine serves as the foundation for fostering authentic experiences and connecting people,” the company said in a press release.
The opening of the hotel in Montenegro marks another important step in the brand’s expansion across Europe, following recent openings in Poland, Greece, Italy and Armenia, as well as its upcoming launch in the United Kingdom market next year.
Małgorzata Kalinowska-Klimek, Vice President Franchise Operation Eastern Europe at Accor, said that Montenegro is gaining strong momentum as a travel destination, celebrated for its natural beauty and cultural richness.
The hotel is located 25 km from Tivat International Airport, 50 km from Dubrovnik, and 100 km from Podgorica. The hotel is committed to responsible hospitality, with sustainable practices and eco-friendly amenities aligned with Green Globe standards.
