Budva, (MINA-BUSINESS) – The Director of Morsko Dobro, Mladen Mikijelj, today offered the company’s support to the Municipality of Budva in overcoming its liquidity crisis.
In a letter addressed to Mayor of Budva Nikola Jovanovic, Mikijelj said that, based on media reports and informal conversations with employees of the local administration, he had become familiar with the current situation and financial difficulties, particularly regarding the payment of salaries and settlement of other obligations to employees.
“It is concerning that the Municipality of Budva, after ten years of liquid operations and publicly known information that it had €20 million in carried-over funds, along with a record budget and record revenue collection, has encountered liquidity problems,” Mikijelj stated in the letter.
As he added, guided by concern for the citizens of Budva and the need to regularly meet obligations toward them, especially socially vulnerable groups, Morsko Dobro is ready to help overcome the current challenges.
He added that, as a state-owned company headquartered in Budva, Morsko Dobro feels an obligation to assist the municipality’s citizens and employees in overcoming the crisis.
