Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – According to the Ministry of Finance, the international credit rating agency Moody’s has upgraded Montenegro’s outlook from stable to positive, while maintaining the country’s credit rating at Ba3, confirming confidence in macroeconomic stability, the sustainability of public finances, and responsibly managed economic policy.
“Montenegro continues to receive strong international confirmations of the soundness of its economic policy and reform path,” the Ministry said in a press release.
The press release says that such a decision is an important signal to the international financial and investment community that Montenegro remains a reliable and stable partner, with a clear vision for economic development and a strong commitment to European standards.
Additional confirmation of this course is the fact that the rating agency Standard & Poor’s upgraded Montenegro’s outlook in February, meaning that two of the most relevant international institutions have confirmed the country’s progress and the credibility of its economic policy within a short period of time.
The Ministry of Finance said that the positive outlook reflects stable economic growth, which is estimated to be between 3 percent and 3.5 percent annually from this year until 2028, along with a favourable capacity to service public debt, controlled borrowing costs, and stable public finances.
