Montenegro’s growing role on the international tourism map

Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – Montenegro will host the 73rd meeting of the UN Tourism Commission for Europe next year, confirming the country’s increasingly important role on the international tourism map.

 

Minister of Tourism Simonida Kordic met with Malta’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs and Tourism, Ian Borg.

 

Borg congratulated Kordic on successfully chairing the 72nd meeting of the UN Tourism Commission for Europe, which was held this year with the support of the Government of Malta, highlighting the importance of cooperation and joint action within international tourism institutions.


At the meeting, Kordic presented the strategic directions for the development of Montenegrin tourism in the coming period, with a focus on sustainability, authenticity, and the valorisation of local identity.


The meeting focused on air connectivity and possibilities for improving connections between Montenegro and Malta, as well as better links with other European destinations, with the aim of further developing the tourism industry.
