Podgorica, (MINA) - Montenegro welcomes Ukraine’s initiative to establish a ceasefire in the conflicts with Russia, starting on Tuesday night, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said earlier that Ukraine will establish a ceasefire on the night of May 5-6, after Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a ceasefire for May 8-9 to mark Victory Day.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Montenegro announced, in a post on the X social network, that Montenegro welcomes Ukraine’s initiative and all efforts aimed at ending the violence.
“Russia’s aggression has caused immense human suffering and loss. We strongly support all efforts aimed at ending the violence and securing a just and lasting peace”, the Ministry’s press release states.
