Podgorica, (MINA) – Montenegro is not among the countries mentioned as potential locations for third-country centers for the reception of rejected asylum seekers, nor has it participated in any negotiations or initiatives of that kind, the Government announced.

They stated that information that appeared on certain Internet websites linking Montenegro to discussions on the establishment of “third centers” for the reception of rejected asylum seekers is a misinformation.

“Montenegro is not among the countries mentioned in the context of potential locations for such centers, nor has it participated in any negotiations or initiatives of that kind”, said the Government.

They called on the media outlets to verify information related to the Government’s policies through official institutions and relevant sources, in order to avoid spreading inaccurate and unverified claims.
