Podgorica, (MINA) – The framework for the improvement of the direct exchange of intelligence and security data in the areas of terrorism and serious and organized crime in Montenegro has been further expanded, said Aleksa Becic, Deputy Prime Minister and coordinator of the Bureau for Operational Coordination of Intelligence and Security Sector (BOK).
He said that this was done by signing the Agreement on the use the national “watch” list and the General Rules of work and cooperation between the organizational unit for the national watch lists and the contact points of the state bodies that make up the national “watch” list.
Those documents were signed by Minister of the Interior Danilo Saranovic, Minister of Defense Dragan Krapovic, Director of the Police Administration Lazar Scepanovic, Director of the National Security Agency Ivica Janovic and Acting Director of the Customs Administration Maja Vucinic.
“By signing these documents, the foundation for improving the direct exchange of intelligence and security data in the areas of terrorism and serious and organized crime has been further expanded, and at the same time, a model of cooperation between intelligence and security sector bodies of partner countries have been implemented in our sector”, said Becic.
He emphasized that the signing of those documents is the result of several months of work by the interdepartmental team formed by BOK in February 2024, in accordance with the provisions of the Law on the Basics of the Intelligence and Security Sector, which has so far fully implemented all defined tasks.
