Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – It was concluded at a meeting between Montenegrin President Jakov Milatovic and representatives of the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) that economic relations between Montenegro and Japan show a positive trend, with mutual readiness to further enhance and expand existing cooperation in areas of strategic importance.
Particular emphasis was placed on the potential to intensify cooperation in the sectors of infrastructure, energy, digital transformation, and innovation, where there is room for more concrete investment activities and long-term partnerships, including LNG terminal and railway infrastructure development projects.
It was noted that Japanese companies increasingly recognize Montenegro as a reliable investment destination, especially in the fields of infrastructure, logistics, and tourism.
In this context, possibilities for cooperation on railway infrastructure improvement projects, as well as in the application of green and digital solutions, were discussed.
Milatovic stated that Montenegro remains committed to improving the business environment, highlighting advantages such as the use of the euro, NATO membership, and clear progress on the European path, which further contributes to the country’s attractiveness as an investment destination.
