Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – It was concluded at a meeting between Montenegrin President Jakov Milatovic and Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi that Montenegro and Japan can improve economic cooperation through concrete initiatives in the fields of energy, tourism, infrastructure, technology, and innovation.
Milatovic and Takaichi discussed economic cooperation, agreements, and the opening of Montenegro’s Embassy in Tokyo.
Milatovic said that the visit to Japan further strengthened political dialogue and mutual understanding between the two countries, also noting his first bilateral meeting with Japanese Emperor Naruhito.
“In that context, the upcoming opening of Montenegro’s Embassy in Tokyo was highlighted as an important step forward and a strong signal of long-term commitment to developing relations with Japan, especially in the year marking 20 years of diplomatic ties,” the President’s Public Relations Office said in a press release.
The two officials also recognized significant potential for a greater presence of Japanese companies in the Montenegrin market.
Milatovic initiated the conclusion of an economic cooperation agreement, as well as double tax avoidance agreement.
