Montenegro and France strengthen partnership in the implementation of aviation standards

Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – The aviation authorities of Montenegro and France are enhancing professional cooperation, particularly in the implementation of standards and recommended practices of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).

The continuation of the partnership was formalized through an updated five-year Agreement on Technical Cooperation in the field of civil aviation, signed today in Marseille by the directors of Montenegro’s Civil Aviation Agency (CAA), Ivan Scekic, and the French Directorate General for Civil Aviation (DGAC), Chems Chkioua.

“The cooperation focuses on areas of special importance for the development and strengthening of the civil aviation system, including air navigation, flight operations and aircraft maintenance, airports, airworthiness, oversight and quality management, professional staff training, aviation security, and the sustainability of air transport,” the CAA said in a press release.

The agreement provides for the exchange of expert knowledge and experience, the organization of joint training sessions and workshops, as well as cooperation between experts in implementing international ICAO standards and recommended practices.

The agreement, signed during the 166th meeting of directors of civil aviation authorities of member states of the European Civil Aviation Conference (ECAC), confirms the shared commitment to improving the sector and aligning with European and international civil aviation standards.
