Montenegro aligned with European standards in infrastructure and transport

Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – Negotiating Chapter 21 – Trans-European Networks deals with the improvement and development of transport, energy, and telecommunications systems with the aim of meeting the standards applicable within the European Union (EU).

The chapter pertains to major European systems that connect member states through transport, energy, and telecommunications networks.

The objective of establishing Trans-European Networks and promoting better connectivity of national networks is to fully utilize the potential of the internal market and contribute to economic growth and job creation.

Without modern infrastructure linking different regional and national networks, it is not possible to ensure the free movement of goods, services, capital, and workers, which is also an important element for achieving the Union’s economic and social cohesion and represents the value of Chapter 21.

Chapter 21 covers the sub-areas of the Trans-European Transport Network (TEN-T), the Trans-European Energy Network (TEN-E), and the Trans-European Telecommunications Network (eTEN).
