Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) - According to Monstat, 7.28 million litres of cow milk were purchased in the first quarter, 10.9 percent more than in last year’s corresponding period.

The Statistical Office stated in a press release that, compared with corresponding period of 2025, the average dairy fat content measured in the first quarter decreased by 1.9 percent, while the protein content was 0.8 percent higher.

“Compared with the same quarter of 2025, production of fermented dairy products and cheese increased by 18.7 percent and 4,4 percent, respectively, while a decline was recorded in the production of drinking milk by 18.4 percent, cream by 16.4 percent, and sour cream by 4.8 percent,” the press release reads.
