Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – Compared with last year’s corresponding period, the prices of products and services for personal consumption, measured by the consumer price index (CPI), were 3.8 percent higher on average in April.
According to Monstat, the consumer prices saw an average increase of 1.4 percent compared with March.
“The negative inflation rate at the monthly level was affected primarily by an increase in prices of fuel and lubricants for motor vehicles, vegetables, root vegetables and legumes, clothing, meat and meat products, other equipment, articles and products for personal care, fruit and nuts, non-durable household goods, and accommodation services,” Monstat said in a press release.
Compared with the same period in 2025, consumer prices were 3.1 percent higher on average in the first four months.
Across the main groups, the monthly increase in prices was recorded for transport, clothing and footwear, food and non-alcoholic beverages, furnishings and routine maintenance of the house, restaurants and accommodation services, personal care, social welfare, different goods and services, recreation, sports and culture, alcoholic beverages and tobacco.
A decline was recorded in the category of housing, water, electricity, gas, and other fuels.
Prices of other products and services have not changed considerably.
