Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – Compared with last year’s corresponding period, the prices of products and services for personal consumption, measured by the consumer price index (CPI), were 2.6 percent higher on average in February.
According to Monstat, the consumer prices saw an average increase of 0.2 percent compared with January.
“The negative inflation rate at the monthly level was affected primarily by an increase in prices of fuel and lubricants for motor vehicles, fruit and nuts, waste collection, dwellings maintenance, repair and security services, vegetables, tubers and legumes, restaurants, cafés and similar establishments, coffee and coffee substitutes, shoes and other footwear,” Monstat said in a press release.
Compared with the same period in 2025, consumer prices were 2.7 percent higher on average in January and February.
Across the main groups, the monthly increase in prices was recorded for transport, food and
non-alcoholic beverages, furnishings and routine maintenance of the house, insurance and financial services, personal care, social welfare, and different goods and services.
In this period, the prices decreased in the category of restaurants and hotels, recreation, sports and culture, housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels, clothing and footwear.
Prices of other products and services have not changed considerably.
