Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – Compared to 2024, passenger transport recorded growth in road and air transport last year, while declines were noted in local road and rail transport.

According Monstat, the number of passengers transported by rail last year decreased by 12.3 percent compared to 2024, while the volume of goods transported increased by 2.1 percent. 

“The number of passengers transported by road last year increased by 1.4 percent compared to 2024, while local road transport recorded a decline of 5.6 percent,” the Statistical Office said in a press release. 

Statisticians noted that the number of tons handled in ports last year remained at the same level as in 2024, while manipulated cargo decreased by 3.6 percent in the same period.

“Compared to 2024, total cargo turnover in ports last year increased by 1.6 percent,” the press release reads.

Compared to 2024, The number of passengers at airports increased by 7.4 percent last year, while air cargo transported in the same period decreased by 13.4 percent.

“The number of passengers transported in air transport last year increased by 3.1 percent compared to 2024,” Monstat said.
