Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – According to preliminary data from Monstat, 1.22 million tourist arrivals were recorded in private accommodation last year, while the number of overnight stays reached 10.18 million in Montenegro.

“Of the total number of overnight stays, 99.6 percent were made by foreign tourists, while domestic tourists accounted for 0.4 percent,” the Statistical Office said in a press release.

In the structure of overnight stays by foreign tourists last year, the highest share was recorded by tourists from Serbia with 25.6 percent, followed by Russia with 22.1 percent, Bosnia and Herzegovina with 9.4 percent, Turkiye with 4.9 percent, Ukraine with 4.7 percent, Germany with 3.9 percent, Kosovo with 3.1 percent, and the United Kingdom with 2.3 percent.

Tourists from other countries accounted for 24 percent of overnight stays.

In the structure of overnight stays by type of tourist destination in private accommodation last year, the majority were recorded in coastal destinations with 94.8 percent, followed by mountain destinations with 2.6 percent, other tourist destinations with 1.9 percent, and the capital with 0.7 percent.
