Podgorica, (MINA) – President of the Appeallate Court Mirjana Popovic was dismissed from her position on Thursday due to, as stated by the Judicial Council, inappropriate conduct toward colleagues at the court.
Popovic was dismissed at the proposal of Supreme Court President Valentina Pavlicic, and the Judicial Council adopted the decision unanimously, Vijesti online reports.
Judicial Council President Radoje Korac, explaining the decision, said that a complaint had preceded the proposal for dismissal.
He noted that this was the first time in history that all judges and almost the entire administrative staff of a court had complained about the conduct of its president.
Korcć said that no disciplinary proceedings were conducted, but rather a special procedure.
“Her (Popovic’s) judicial office was not called into question, we have only made a decision to remove her from the position of President of the Appellate Court,” Korac said.
He added that Popovic had responded to all the allegations made by her colleagues, claiming that it was a campaign against her.
