Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – The Ministry of Economic Development has called on all interested parties and media outlets to verify information related to the implementation of the Law on Crafts with this government department as the competent authority.
“The Ministry reminds that, in accordance with the current legal framework, it is the competent authority for drafting, monitoring implementation, and interpretation of the Law on Crafts,” the Ministry said in a press release.
The Ministry stated that certain information regarding the implementation of the Law on Crafts had been presented in the media, as well as in communications directed to craftspeople, by a representative of the non-governmental organization (NGO) Craft and Entrepreneurship Chamber of Montenegro, Boris Mrdjonovic.
“In his public statements, this person used the name and symbols of the Craft Chamber of Montenegro, which is a different business association from the NGO Craft and Entrepreneurship Chamber of Montenegro, on whose behalf Mrdjonovic may act,” the Ministry stated, adding that this manner of representation may lead to confusion regarding the identity and authority of the person addressing the public.
The Ministry said it will continue to act in accordance with its competences, with the goal of ensuring legality, legal certainty, and the protection of the interests of craftspeople in Montenegro.
