Milovic: Montenegro facing stagflation

Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – Montenegro is facing stagflation, said Member of Parliament Nikola Milovic, Secretary General of the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS), adding that prices are rising, the economy is declining, and the government is asleep.

In a post on X, he wrote that life is becoming more expensive, while the economy is stagnating or weakening.

Milovic stated that fuel, food, and basic services are already increasing in price, and a new wave of price hikes is underway.

“Europe and the region are reacting and introducing measures to protect their citizens, while our Government remains silent and reacts sporadically. So far, the ‘liberators’ have failed to address inflation, and now growth has practically stopped, the economy is blocked, and prices continue to rise,” Milovic warned.

He believes this is not an economic policy, but rather an absence of responsibility.

“The time for reaction has passed; the time for accountability is yet to come,” Milovic concluded.
