Podgorica, (MINA) - Montenegro faces a unique “window of opportunity” that requires decisive action and the acceleration of reform processes, it was assessed during a meeting between President Jakov Milatovic and German Minister of State for Europe Gunter Krichbaum.

Milatovic is visiting Berlin, where, as announced by his office, he will further strengthen international support for Montenegro’s European path in talks with high-ranking German officials and members of the Bundestag.

At a working dinner with Krichbaum, one of the more influential members of the ruling CDU, the focus was on speeding up the accession process and strengthening political support within the European Union (EU).

It was jointly assessed that Montenegro faces a unique “window of opportunity” that requires decisive action and the acceleration of reform processes.

It was especially emphasized that EU membership is not an automatic process, but the result of concrete and measurable reforms, primarily in the rule of law.

Milatovic, according to the press release, emphasized Montenegro’s full commitment to implementing reforms, with the message that now is the moment for concrete steps forward so that the country can take advantage of the favorable political momentum and become a full member of the EU.
