Podgorica (MINA) – Montenegrin President Jakov Milatovic has awarded the Order of the Montenegrin Flag to Mileva Gara Jovanovic for, as announced from his office, exceptional contribution to the preservation of Sinjajevina.

Jovanovic is one of the protagonists of the film “Mountain”, which won the Grand Jury Prize in the international documentary film program at the Sundance Film Festival.

According to the press release from his office, Milatovic hosted the film’s authors Biljana Tutorov and Petar Glomazic, as well as the main protagonists, Mileva Jovanovic and Nada Stanisic.

Milatovic pointed out that this is the most significant international recognition that a Montenegrin film has received, and that this award goes beyond individual success and marks an important milestone for Montenegrin cinematography as a whole.

It is stated that, in this context, Milatovic awarded Mileva Gara Jovanovic with the Order of the Montenegrin Flag for exceptional contribution to the preservation of Sinjajevina, persistent and dignified struggle to protect the natural environment and the community’s right to safeguard the space that defines its identity, tradition and lifestyle.
