Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – Investments in road and utility infrastructure, including the reconstruction of local roads and improvement of the water supply network, are key development goals of Danilovgrad, Montenegrin President Jakov Milatovic said, adding that the municipality is becoming a destination for living and working.
Speaking at the ceremonial session of the Danilovgrad City Council on the occasion of Municipality Day and Liberation Day, he noted that the municipal budget, which has doubled compared to previous years, confirms that work is being done seriously and in the interest of citizens.
Milatovic said he sees Danilovgrad as a place that is no longer just a stopover, but a destination, adding that the municipality meets all the conditions to become a city where people come to live, work, and invest.
Speaking about agriculture, Milatovic said that the revitalized Bjelopavlici Plain should become the backbone of the local economy, welcoming municipal subsidies for grain producers, beekeepers, and livestock farmers.
He also called Danilovgrad a “city of books,” recalling that the school in Orja Luka was among the first in Montenegro and stressing the importance of investing in kindergartens and schools.
Milatovic highlighted tourism as a special opportunity, noting that Danilovgrad has all the prerequisites to become a magnet for people and the heart of tourism in central Montenegro, thanks to its natural beauty, historical sites, and spiritual centres such as Ostrog and Zdrebaonik.
