Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – The President of Montenegro, Jakov Milatovic, said that all available mechanisms should be used to stabilize fuel prices so that citizens do not feel the burden of price hikes.
Speaking after today’s meeting of the Defence and Security Council, Milatovic said the energy implications of the conflict in the Middle East were an important topic, particularly for the citizens of Montenegro.
He noted that oil prices in the international market have reached the levels seen in 2022, when prices were also very high due to the war in Ukraine.
Milatovic said that during a phone call with the Minister of Energy, which the Council members had during the meeting, they were assured that citizens should not worry, that supply is stable and that certain price adjustments are expected.
“I pointed out to the Prime Minister the need to use all mechanisms to stabilize fuel prices so that our citizens do not feel the burden of price increases,” Milatovic said.
