Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – It was concluded at a meeting between Agriculture Minister Vladimir Joković and a delegation of the World Bank that the MIDAS 2 project, which played a key role in the administrative development of the agricultural sector, is successfully nearing completion, with all planned activities to be finalized by 30 June.

They agreed that the MIDAS 2 project played a key role in the administrative development of the agricultural sector, as well as in Montenegro’s progress in the negotiation process with the European Union, including the provisional closure of Chapters 11 and 13.

“During the implementation of the project, a large number of activities were carried out, and its completion will be formally marked with the opening of Agriculture Houses in Berane and Pljevlja, as well as the National Phytosanitary Laboratory,” the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management of Montenegro said in a press release.

The meeting was also held on the occasion of the first mission of the new Climate-Resilient Fisheries and Agri-Food Sector Development project (CRFASD), for which the agreement with the World Bank was signed on 24 December, while implementation will begin in late March.

During the meeting, information was exchanged on the status of preparatory activities for the project’s implementation.
