Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – The opening of a base by Wizz Air at Podgorica Airport and the introduction of 17 new routes mark one of the most important steps forward in the development of air transport and tourism in recent years, said Chairman of the Board of Directors of Airports of Montenegro (ACG), Stefan Madzgalj.
“This is primarily the result of the Government’s clear development policy and Prime Minister Milojko Spajic, whose commitment to improving air connectivity and tourism in the country has created the conditions for one of Europe’s largest low-cost airlines to open its base in Podgorica,” Madzgalj said in a press release.
He added that an important role in the implementation of this project was also played by the ACG management, led by Executive Director Roko Tolic, who contributed to the successful realization of the project through intensive negotiations and operational preparations.
“The results of such a development policy are already visible through the growth in traffic, passenger numbers, and the financial performance of ACG, confirming that stronger connectivity with the European market brings tangible economic benefits for both the country and the company,” Madzgalj concluded.
