Koprivica: State deliberately put in an unfavourable position

Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – The state was knowingly and deliberately placed in an unfavourable position through the deal related to the Mozura project, Deputy Prime Minister for the Political System, Judiciary and Anti-Corruption Momo Koprivica said, accusing former prime minister Milo Djukanovic of bearing direct political responsibility.

“The state was knowingly and deliberately put in an unfavourable position through that deal, which is why we are talking about corruption at the highest level. This is the direct political responsibility of then prime minister Djukanovic and minister Vladimir Kavaric, while the competent authorities should determine other forms of responsibility,” Koprivica said.

He announced that all documentation would be submitted to the competent institutions in order to establish the facts and any possible accountability for decisions that caused damage to the national interests, as well as whether the public interest was jeopardised in a way that indicates corruption.

“Citizens of Montenegro have the right to know how decisions were made regarding projects worth hundreds of millions of euros and whether the public interest in those processes was protected or undermined,” Koprivica said.

He stated that new facts regarding the Mozura wind farm project raise serious questions about how the then government, led by Djukanovic, managed the project.
