Konatar: Proposal to increase pensions on the Parliament’s agenda

Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – A proposal by MPs from the United Reform Action (URA) to increase all pensions by €40, which would also raise the minimum pension from €450 to €490, has been included in Parliament’s agenda with the support of opposition MPs.

URA MP Miloš Konatar stated that only one more step remains for the increase of all pensions by €40, and that is for the Government to give a positive opinion and for the ruling majority MPs to vote in favour of the proposed amendments to the Law on Pension and Disability Insurance, submitted by URA MPs.

“Pensioners would receive pensions increased by €40 starting from 1 April, and it is not necessary to allocate additional funds in the budget for this. There is room for the increase to be implemented within the 2026 budget, so that instead of inefficient spending, funds can finally be directed to those who need them most—in this case, pensioners in Montenegro,” Konatar concluded.
