Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – Employees of the Railway Infrastructure Company of Montenegro (ŽICG) have demanded the payment of their lawfully earned salaries.
“Employees must not be used as instruments for achieving political or other interests. Their demand is legitimate and clear – payment of the salaries they have earned in accordance with the law and their work obligations. Further delay in resolving this situation is unacceptable. Salaries must be paid without delay,” ZICG said in a press release, signed by Andrej Kaludjerovic.
He stated that ZICG employees have not received their salaries for 17 days.
“We are addressing the public on behalf of all employees, because those who are obliged to protect workers’ rights remain persistently silent. The representative unions of ZICG, the Railway Infrastructure Union and the New Railway Infrastructure Union, have not spoken out, while employees bear the consequences,” Kaludjerovic said.
According to him, this situation has lasted for 17 days and poses a serious problem that goes beyond the issue of salaries alone.
“This is about the dignity of work, legal security, and the basic livelihood of employees and their families,” Kaludjerovic added.
