Ivanovic: Montenegro welcomes inaugural meeting of Working Party for drafting Accession Treaty

Podgorica, (MINA) – The inaugural meeting of the Ad Hoc Working Party for the drafting of Montenegro’s Accession Treaty is an important milestone that reaffirms the credibility of EU enlargement and continuity of the country’s EU path, said Deputy MP for Foreign and European Affairs Filip Ivanovic.
He stated that Montenegro welcomes the inaugural meeting of the Ad Hoc Working Party for the drafting of Montenegro’s Accession Treaty, held under the Cyprus Presidency if the EU Council.
“This important milestone sends a strong and encouraging message that EU enlargement remains a credible, strategic and forward-looking priority. It also reaffirms that Montenegro’s European path is progressing steadily, with the Western Balkans firmly belonging in the EU”, Ivanovic wrote on the X social network.
He thanked the Cyprus Presidency for its leadership, commitment and strong support to the enlargement process and Montenegro’s EU integration efforts.
“Montenegro remains fully committed to advancing reforms, strengthening the rule of law and successfully concluding the accession process as the next EU member state”, said Ivanovic.
