Internship at NLB Bank an opportunity for learning through work

Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – Members of the Coordination Group for Monitoring Cooperation Between Higher Education Institutions and Employers visited NLB Bank in Podgorica, where practical training for 18 third-year students from the Faculty of Economics of the University of Montenegro (UCG) is currently underway.

The Coordination Group was established in accordance with the Government’s Growth Plan, which is based on modernizing the education system, strengthening workforce competitiveness, and improving conditions for practical teaching at universities.

“This body aims to create mechanisms for improving the quality of practical teaching, which will contribute to enhancing the quality of education as well as the ability of young people to integrate more easily into the labour market,” the Chamber of Commerce of Montenegro (PKCG) stated in a press release.

The internship programme at NLB Bank is being implemented from 4 to 29 May, with six-hour daily sessions.

Director of the Directorate for Higher Education at the Ministry of Education, Science and Innovation, Dragana Cetkovic, said she was pleased that NLB Bank is participating in the implementation of the internship programme for students, and that there are many examples of young people continuing to work for the employer after completing this type of training.

Member of the Management Board of NLB Bank, Drazen Vujosevic, stated that the bank maintains very good cooperation with the Faculty of Economics, which is also strengthened through the internship programme for third-year students.

Cooperation between higher education institutions and the labour market, which is also carried out through internship programmes with employers, not only enables better alignment of educational programs with the needs of the business sector, but also contributes to reducing unemployment, improving students’ employability, and strengthening the competitiveness of the economy.
