Inspectors identify 55 irregularities

Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – According to the Ministry of Economic Development, Inspectors of the Market Inspection Directorate carried out 64 inspections and identified 55 irregularities during the May Day holidays.

“In order to eliminate the identified irregularities and sanction traders who committed violations, market inspectors issued 55 decisions and handed out 91 misdemeanour orders, totalling €29,650 in fines,” the Directorate said in a press release.

The Ministry added that, due to retail activities being conducted on public and other holidays, market inspectors shut down 15 retail outlets for the period during which operation is not permitted.

“The Market Inspection Directorate will continue with ongoing controls to ensure compliance with the ban on wholesale and retail trade on Sundays and public and other holidays, in order to guarantee consistent enforcement of legal provisions,” the press release concluded.
