Inspection oversight coordination intensified for summer season in the north

Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – During the upcoming summer tourist season in the north, inspectors will place special emphasis on combating the informal economy, including tackling unregistered accommodation, undeclared labour, and illegal service providers.
At the initiative of the Chairman of the Coordination Body for the Alignment and Monitoring of Inspection Oversight, Minister Milutin Butorovic, a meeting was held with Mayor of Zabljak Rados Zugic to discuss for the upcoming summer tourist season.
Priorities in implementing this year’s Action Plan were discussed, with a particular focus on coordinating state and local inspection services.
“It was agreed that inspectors will work in five shifts during the peak season, from 1 July to 9 September, while teams stationed in Zabljak and Kolasin will cover all municipalities in northern Montenegro.,” the Ministry said in a press release.
In addition to stationary teams, mobile units will also be deployed to enable a faster response in the field.
The importance of increased oversight of accommodation providers, rafting operators, and construction sites was highlighted, with inspections carried out in a non-selective and transparent manner.
