Indictment filed against six individuals for forming a criminal organization

Podgorica, (MINA) – The Special State Prosecutor’s Office (SDT) has filed an indictment against six individuals suspected of forming a criminal organization with the Special Department of the Podgorica High Court.
According to the SDT press release, Aleksandar Mijajlovic, Drago Spicanovic, Vladan Lazovic, Milovan Pavicevic, Andrijana Nastic and Predrag Boskovic are suspected of having committed the criminal offense of forming a criminal organization.
The press release states that Mijajlovic is also suspected of the continued criminal offense of abuse of office through incitement, while Spicanovic is also suspected of the continued criminal offense of abuse of office and the criminal offense of disclosing of secret information.
It is added that Lazovic is charged with two counts of disclosure of secret information, Pavievic with abuse of office, and Nastic with the criminal offense of disclosure of secret information.
“Based on electronic, material and personal evidence collected by the SDT, together with the Special Police Department (SPD), it was established that there is a well-founded suspicion that the defendant A.M., together with yet unidentified persons, formed a criminal organization whose members included the other defendants and other unknown individuals, which operated in Montenegro from 2019 to February 2024”, the press release says.
It is stated that the criminal organization aimed to commit criminal acts of abuse of office and disclosure of secret information, in order to gain unlawful influence.
The SDT said that from the evidence gathered during the proceedings, there is a suspicion that, through the defendants employed in state institutions or holding public office, who illegally used their positions and powers, the organizer obtained secret and other information, which he was not authorized to possess.
The SDT stated that the organizer used the obtained data by “through media outlets M., T.E, C.D.M., S., P.A., P. and A.M., whose editorial policies he influenced, to shape public opinion and created a media image solely for the purpose of suppressing competition and discrediting individuals, as well as religious and political organizations, whose opinion and actions were contrary to the goals and interests of the criminal organization and persons connected with it”.
