Podgorica, (MINA) – The Special State Prosecutor’s Office (SDT) has submitted an indictment to the Special Department of the High Court in Podgorica against former Chief Special Prosecutor Milivoje Katnie and special prosecutor Sasa Cadjenovic, on suspicion of abuse of office and illegal influence in the “Coup d’état” case.
It is stated that the indictment was submitted after the investigation, which established that there is a suspicion that Katnic and Cadjenovic, as co-perpetrators, committed the extended criminal offense of abuse of office and the criminal offense of unlawful influence.
“The subject of the indictment and the proceedings is the joint decision of the defendants to reach an agreement with the legal representative of J.A., a U.S. citizen, against whom the SDT had initiated criminal proceedings for the criminal offenses of creating a criminal organization and attempted terrorism by aiding and abetting, to come to Montenegro and testify in the way the defendants require him to do”, the press release says.
It is alleged that they tried to agree his testimony in the proceedings before the High Court in Podgorica, against leaders of the former Democratic Front Andrija Mandic and Milan Knezevic and other individuals, in relation to the charges of creating a criminal organization, attempted terrorism and preparation of acts against the constitutional order and security of Montenegro, by encouraging and confirming the allegations of the SDT indictment.
“And in return, they offered that national and international arrest warrant against him be withdrawn, that he not be arrested and placed in custody, and that the criminal proceedings against him be suspended”, the press release says.
