Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – The Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Management has launched a public call for the allocation of financial incentives aimed at modernizing the fishing fleet and preserving the freshness of catches.

The right to incentives may be obtained for the reconstruction of fishing vessels, replacement of existing fishing vessels with new ones, replacement, repair, or servicing of the main engine, procurement of a new auxiliary engine and fishing and navigation equipment, as well as covering mooring costs for fishing vessels.

Support is also available for the purchase of equipment to increase fishing efficiency, including the transition to more selective fishing gear, procurement of equipment for maintaining, storing, and preserving the freshness of fish and other marine organisms, purchase of safety equipment for fishing vessels, and improvements to hygiene and health standards on board.

The right to incentives may also be exercised for devices used for monitoring, control, and supervision of fishing activities, refrigerated transport vehicles for maintaining the freshness of caught fish and other marine organisms, boat trailers and trailers for transporting fishing equipment, electric chain hoists up to three tons, as well as solar systems and other energy equipment for vessels. 

The public call will remain open until 15 October.
