Ibrahimovic: No deadlock in negotiations with Croatia

Ibrahimovic: No deadlock in negotiations with Croatia

Podgorica, (MINA) - Minister of Foreign Affairs Ervin Ibrahimovic said that he is confident that by the end of the year, as planned, Montenegro will close all chapters in the negotiations with the European Union, including Chapter 31, which was blocked by Croatia more than a year ago.

He claims that there is no deadlock in the negotiations between the two countries, and that the formation of a commission to negotiate with Croatia on the ownership of the training ship Jadran is in the final phase.

Montenegro has a little more than eight months to achieve its goal of completing negotiations with the EU. Ibrahimovic believes that within this period, Podgorica will succeed in getting the green light from Zagreb to close Chapter 31, which Croatia previously blocked due to unresolved issues with Montenegro.

“Let’s not forget that on March 17 we closed the 14th chapter for which Croatia gave us the green light. Therefore, Croatia supports our European path and I am optimistic, because of all these things we have done so far, that in the coming period, with the responsibility on both countries, we will reach an agreement and close Chapter 31”, Ibrahimovic told Television of Montenegro.
