Podgorica, (MINA) - The decision to form an ad hoc working party tasked with drafting the Accession Treaty is a strong and unequivocal confirmation that Montenegro has entered the final and most demanding phase of the EU accession process, said Foreign Minister Ervin Ibrahimovic.
According to the press release from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, he pointed out that this is one of the key steps forward in the negotiations so far, which not only confirms the progress achieved so far, but also clearly indicates a high level of trust in the institutional and reform maturity of Montenegro.
“The upcoming work will not only be technical in nature, but an essential process that requires a responsible and thoughtful approach”, said Ibrahimovic.
According to him, the group’s work will be based on the results achieved so far, but also on a realistic assessment of the contemporary challenges faced by both Montenegro and the EU.
“I see this process as a shared task, in which interests and responsibilities intersect, with a clear understanding that the focus must remain on the quality and sustainability of the solutions. Montenegro approaches this work with full awareness of its importance, not only for its own European path, but also for the broader context of the enlargement policy”, stated Ibrahimovic.
