Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – The Tax Administration collected a total of €481.7 million in gross tax revenues in the first quarter, which is €15.5 million more compared to the same period last year.

The Tax Administration stated in a press release that this confirms a stable growth trend and improved tax discipline.

“Continuous activities aimed at the consistent application of tax regulations, as well as the enhancement of control mechanisms, has contributed to increased collection efficiency and strengthened fiscal stability,” the press release reads.

Between 1 January and 31 March, a total of €134.3 million was collected value-added tax (VAT), €1.3 million more than in the same period last year.

In the coming period, the Tax Administration will continue with activities aimed at strengthening tax discipline and combating the informal economy, alongside further digitalization of services and improved cooperation with taxpayers, enabling simpler, faster, and more transparent fulfilment of tax obligations.
