Podgorica, (MINA) – The support of 385 members of the European Parliament (EP) for adopting the Enlargement Strategy is an expression of confidence in the certainty of Montenegro’s EU membership, said Minister of European Affairs Maida Gorcevic.

Gorcevic said that the adoption of the enlargement strategy in the EP sends the right message at the right moment.

“The support of 385 MPs for the adoption of a document which recognizes Montenegro’s ambition to close all chapters by the end of the year is a clear expression of confidence in the certainty of our membership”, Gorcevic wrote on the X network.

She pointed out that she is particularly encouraging that the Council is called upon to remove obstacles for candidates on their path toward the EU, with firm respect for the principles of merit-based evaluation and the regatta principle, which have long been Montenegro’s positions.
