Gajevic and Martinovic proposed as members of the Fiscal Council

Podgorica, (MINA-BUSINESS) – The Economy, Finance and Budget Committee has proposed to Parliament that Stevan Gajevic and Lidija Martinovic be appointed as members of the Fiscal Council.

Gajevic was nominated for membership in the Fiscal Council by Montenegrin President Jakov Milatovic, while Martinovic was proposed by the Committee. The Government did not nominate its own candidate.

In addition to Martinovic and Gajevic, Bratislav Pejakovic was also among the candidates.

Chairman of the Committee, Boris Mugosa said at the meeting that candidate hearings were held on 30 March, after which they contacted Milatovic and the Ministry of Finance regarding candidates.

“The Ministry of Finance informed us in mid-May that the Government had decided not to nominate a member,” Mugosa added.

Following the vote by Committee members, Martinovic received four out of seven votes, while three members abstained. It was then decided to propose Martinovic to Parliament as a member of the Fiscal Council.

Mugosa stated that he would request the plenary session to vote on those candidates tomorrow.
