Free internet at Magnolia Square for citizens and visitors

Tivat, (MINA-BUSINESS) – The launch of the WiFi4WB initiative was officially marked today at Magnolia Square in Tivat, providing this coastal town with free, fast, and reliable public internet at one of its central locations.

The event, held at the Tivat Town Hall and attended by representatives of the European Union (EU), local government, partner institutions, and the private sector, is part of a coordinated series of events across the Western Balkans.

Following the opening remarks, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Municipality of Tivat and the German Organization for International Cooperation (GIZ), formally launching the project at the local level.

According to a press release from the Europe House, the ceremony continued outdoors, where attendees symbolically performed the “first login” to the WiFi4WB network, marking the beginning of free internet availability for citizens and visitors of Tivat.

The WiFi4WB initiative is part of the EU4Digital project, jointly funded by the EU and Germany’s Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), with the aim of accelerating the region’s digital transformation. The project is implemented by GIZ, which coordinates activities across all six Western Balkan economies.
